A Haunting in Harborne

A Haunting in Harborne is Joanne Donaldson’s first book, documenting her family’s experiences in a Victorian house in Harborne, Birmingham.

The story is based on her own memories, those of other family members and events that remained part of family life long after they occurred. It is as much about the effect those experiences had on the people involved as it is about the unexplained events themselves.

2026

Joanne Donaldson, formerly Joanne Morris, founded Birmingham Ghosts and Hauntings UK in 2006. Her interest in Birmingham's history and reported hauntings led to many years of research, investigations and correspondence with people who had experienced unexplained events.

Between 2007 and 2010, she wrote the weekly Haunted column for the Sunday Mercury, covering ghost stories, local folklore and paranormal experiences from Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.

Her research and newspaper articles, originally published under the name Joanne Morris, form part of a continuing body of work that now includes her first book, A Haunting in Harborne (2026), published under the name Joanne Donaldson.
