I wrote this memoir to preserve not only the unexplained events that took place in our Victorian home in Harborne, Birmingham, but also the memories of the family who lived through them.

It tells the story of our lives during those years and of what we witnessed there.

We are older now. Time has given us enough distance to tell this story as we remember it. What was once kept within our family for fear of being misunderstood is no longer something we feel we need to hide.

This book is our family's account of those years, shared in the hope that the memories and the people who lived them will not be forgotten.'
